Russia has promoted a combination of scientific research and production in the market economy and developed a new high-melting-point polypropylene staple fiber. Its auto-ignition temperature is 325 to 388 degrees Celsius, and its combustion temperature is 325 to 343 degrees Celsius.
The Russian Central Scientific Research Institute and the Petrochemical Plant of Moscow carried out an industrial trial production of this polypropylene staple fiber, conducted a preliminary process assessment of the sample yarn, and developed the required polypropylene according to market conditions. The trial production of spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing of pure polypropylene and its blended fibers was carried out. After analysing the physical-mechanical properties of brand polypropylene in various countries, this polypropylene was studied according to different deniers, different cut lengths, different elongations, different oil types used, and different antistatic properties.
The important properties of this new type of polypropylene, its fabrics and their blended fabrics include high melting point, good moisture permeability and adsorption, low thermal conductivity, low elasticity, and anti-fouling, easy drying, no fading, fabrics The shrinkage rate during washing is only 1%, which is especially suitable for the manufacture of flame-retardant garments and industrial fabrics.
