Nike's New Flagship Store Opens in New York
This week, Nike opened a five-story, 55,000-square-foot (5,109 square-meter) brand new flagship store in Soho, New York’s trendsetting location. The store is located at 529 Broadway, just one block from the newly opened adidas Originals flagship store in August. According to Nike’s official introduction, the shop is designed to provide Nike’s “nikeiD†and create a seamless connection between digital and physical store platforms. The new store is quite large. It is not so much a big flagship store. It is better to say that there are several small shop-in-shops in this store. The division is very obvious. Nike hopes to reach different types of customers, from shoe players to basketball fans. Then to female athletes. For example, a 54-foot shoe wall provided for Sneakerhead is the largest of Nike's global stores, including the season's AF1, LeBron James's new automatic tying shoe HyperAdapt 1.0, and the last remaining pair of Nike Mag in the world. (Already auctioned on November 12, can only see now). For those who are more professional athletes, there is a special training area, including a treadmill with a large screen, where customers can try to run and "pass through Central Park in 90 seconds." In addition, on the fifth floor of the flagship store, Nike has set up a Nike+ Basketball Trial Zone that is about half the size of a basketball court. The height of the basketball stands can be adjusted. Similarly, facing the big screen of the stadium can simulate the realistic environment and make you feel like playing in the famous Dyckman or Brooklyn Bridge Park stadium in New York. In addition, there is a 400-square-foot artificial turf for football fans; a dedicated lounge for women. A display area for Nike x Apple Watch. Jordan Brand Area. And customers can put all-white sneakers on the city's limited-edition pattern in this place, in line with the new store's slogan “New York Madeâ€. Matt Powell, market analyst for the NPD Groups sports industry, said he has never seen a retailer trying to reach so many different types of customers under the same roof. “Can Sneakerheads and yoga geeks get along well? I think it's still to be done Observed." It can be seen that the direct-to-consumer growth requirement reaches 142%. This new flagship store is a step toward this goal.
