At present, there are few manufacturers who really understand and fully use water-based inks in the printing market. This article describes the application of water-based inks. It is hoped that the majority of printing manufacturers will abandon their conservative ideas and accept new types of environmental protection inks, which will bring unexpected benefits to enterprises.

Water-based inks produced by some ink manufacturers in China have been applied in gravure, flexo, screen, and spray applications. In flexo printing, no matter printing plastic film or paper, it is the same as using solvent-based inks. The printing speed is 70m/min, the gloss is 60° or more, and the adhesion is 100%. In particular, non-woven printing requires low-viscosity ink printing to be effective. The ink viscosity needs to be reduced to 7 to 9 seconds, so that the printing area will increase, so the cost of ink consumption accounts for half of the cost of solvent inks. Printed plastic film requires only 40 dynes for surface treatment. It is better to stop the adhesion during the printing process than solvent inks. Regardless of flexographic or gravure printing, just before printing on the machine, the ink required for printing on that day is diluted with water. (That is, it is adjusted to the required printing viscosity.) It is not necessary to add thinner for the change of the ink viscosity in the printing process, so that the printed matter has different shades of color. Ink only needs to add new ink when the amount of ink in the ink tank is not enough. From boot to work, the hue of the printed pattern is absolutely the same, which greatly reduces the scrap rate. In gravure printing, as long as the electric carved version made of shallow version (15 ~ 25um) enhanced hot air, you can reach the printing speed of solvent-based ink, so that the consumption of ink is only half of solvent-based ink. At present, most of the plates used to print gold and silver cardboard are printed in 40-μm depth. The consumption of ink per square meter is 12 grams (full-plate coating), while the ink is printed in 20Um version. The consumption of ink is only 6 grams per square meter, and the abrasion resistance is far higher than the solvent ink.

If the printing manufacturer only has two businesses, gravure printing and flexographic printing, he only needs to purchase one type of flexographic ink, such as flexographic printing, the use of flexographic ink, and the flexographic ink that will be used in gravure printing. The emulsion provided by the ink factory was changed into a gravure ink for printing with slight stirring. In this way, the common two kinds of used inks avoid the use of funds and space, and also eliminate potential safety hazards.

The PH value of the ink is between 7 and 8, with good stability, non-toxic, odorless, no burning, no harm to the human body. In addition, during use, there is almost no loss, and there is no occurrence of anti-sticking phenomenon due to high temperature or pressure of the printed matter and glossiness due to wet weather. It is set to freeze-resistant (minus 20°C) and high-temperature (220°C). The storage period is 3 to 4 years without deterioration. After the solvent ink is used, the storage period is only within 1 year. It often appears dull and knotted. Paste and other phenomena. The use of ink after storage for 2 to 3 years or more does not cause the appearance of similar solvent-based inks. Water-based inks can be used for printing without any changes to the gravure or flexographic printing presses.
