"Small animal optical multimode fusion molecular imaging imaging equipment" project started
On March 4th, the National Key Research Instrument and Equipment Development Special Project "Small Animal Optical Multimode Fusion Molecular Imaging Equipment" of the Fund Committee with Researcher Tian Jie from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as the project leader held a project launch meeting, marking the official launch start up. This project is led by automation. Tsinghua University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the Fourth Military Medical University, and Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology jointly participated. It is the highest funded project of the National Fund Committee by the Institute of Automation to date. In response to the national strategic needs for the prevention and treatment of major diseases and the creation of major new drugs, the project plans to develop small animal optical multimode fusion molecular imaging imaging equipment. The imaging equipment takes optical molecular imaging modalities as the core, fuses nuclide and structural imaging modalities in the same machine, and provides systematic physiological and pathological information from multiple levels of cellular molecules, functional metabolism and anatomical structures. Focusing on the core goal of developing multi-mode imaging equipment, the project involves research on imaging models, reconstruction algorithms, imaging equipment, fusion platforms, verification and evaluation, and medical biological applications. The equipment will be used to carry out medical biological application research on the mechanism of malignant tumor development, early accurate diagnosis and quantitative evaluation of drug efficacy, and provide technical support and equipment support for early accurate diagnosis of tumors and quantitative evaluation of drug efficacy. The implementation of this project is of great significance to promote the scientific research and technological development of life sciences and medicine. At the kick-off meeting, Researcher Tian Jie also gave a report on the overall project situation, the research plan for the construction and development of the three-modality imaging equipment for small animal optics, structure, and metabolism. The implementation plan, specific indicators, research plan and other aspects were reported. Dong Erdan, deputy director of the Medical Department of the Fund Committee, Zheng Yonghe, deputy director of the Comprehensive Planning Bureau, Cao Ning, deputy director of the Planning and Finance Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yang Yongfeng, director of the High-Tech Bureau of the Academy, Xie Huanying, director of the Comprehensive Planning Bureau of the Fund Committee, and Li Enzhong, director of the third division of the Medical Department Researchers Jin Qihong, Associate Researcher Liu Tao, and other leaders and experts from the Project Evaluation Supervision Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the meeting; Professor Dai Jianping, a foreign academician of the American Academy of Medical Sciences, Wu Peiheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shen Xubang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the kick-off meeting.
