The new technology for the production of fully degradable plastic materials using carbon dioxide as a raw material jointly developed by Jiangsu Zhongke Jinlong Co., Ltd. and the Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has recently passed the major scientific and technological achievements appraisal organized by the State Environmental Protection Administration. This technology has developed a new carbon dioxide copolymerization catalyst separation system and obtained a colorless catalyst aliphatic polycarbonate polyol with a content of less than 10 parts per million, which can produce polyurethane materials.
This new type of biodegradable foam can be applied to packaging materials and has a broad market prospect. Experts believe that the products produced by this new technology are not only low in cost, but also completely degradable, and can solve the problem of `white pollution`, opening up new ways for the recycling of greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. The technology of Zhongke Jinlong Company and Guangzhou Chemical Institute can not only provide polyurethane with a brand new raw material, but also many new products, resulting in a new plastic industrial chain.
