As a representative of the excellent cluster, Shen Zhijiang, the deputy head of the People's Government of Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, said in his speech that since the pilot of the transformation of the textile industry cluster, Keqiao has been closely linked to the opportunities and challenges brought about by the economic transformation and upgrading. Shen Zhijiang said that Keqiao will actively carry out high-end textile cultivation activities, technology-led special actions, textile industry benchmarking activities, industry and market integration actions, and promote the textile industry from traditional block clusters to greater strength and speed. The transformation of the modern textile industry cluster with high added value, low energy consumption and low pollution has further promoted the textile industry of “being excellent, stronger and deeper”, and really started the brand “Keqiao Textile”.

Keqiao is one of the most representative textile cluster bases in the country. In recent years, Keqiao District has taken the initiative to cope with the new normal of economic development. Taking the transformation pilot of the textile industry cluster as the main focus, it has promoted the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and made positive progress. Keqiao District currently produces 3.25 million tons of chemical fiber and 16.2 billion meters of printing and dyeing cloth, accounting for 7.2% and 30% of the national output respectively. The profit margin of the textile industry increased from 4.4% in 2012 to 5.3% in 2015. The value-added products accounted for an increase of more than 5% per year, and the textile industry improved the quality and efficiency.

There are nearly 8,000 textile enterprises in Keqiao District, including 775 enterprises, which have formed upstream polyester and chemical fiber raw materials, weaving, dyeing and finishing in the middle reaches, downstream clothing, home textile, textile market and online textile city. The most complete industrial chain and marketing system in the country, the textile industry chain has outstanding advantages; it has been rated as the national new industrialized textile printing and dyeing industry demonstration base, China green printing and dyeing research and development production base, and the National Torch Program Shaoxing textile equipment characteristic industrial base. The “two-in-depth integration” national comprehensive demonstration zone and the first batch of industrial cluster transformation and upgrading demonstration zones in Zhejiang Province, the influence of the textile industry cluster has been continuously enhanced.
