At present, China has more than 100 biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP) production lines. In 2001, the output was about 630,000 tons. The production equipment introduced in early China is basically a single-layer extrusion production line. The drawing speed is generally 120-180m/min and the width is less than 4m. With the development and progress of BOPP processing technology, the 3-5-layer coextrusion production line introduced in recent years has a drawing speed of more than 320m/min. The most recently introduced production line has a maximum draw speed of 450m/min (actual production uses a draw speed of 360-380m/min) and a web width of 8.3m. The three high-speed BOPP production lines introduced in China in the first half of this year have been put into operation. Therefore, the market demand for polypropylene special materials for high-speed BOPP production lines is very large.
In 2001, the subsidiary companies of Sinopec Group Corporation produced a total of 266,000 tons of BOPP special materials, and the output accounted for 50% of the total output of China's BOPP special materials. Among them, Shanghai Petrochemical produced the largest, reaching 65,000 tons.
Sinopec Group has researched and developed BOPP special materials for nearly 10 years. For domestic BOPP special materials, although the key technical indicators such as melt flow rate and isotacticity are the same as or similar to those of foreign products, the processing performance is generally worse than that of imported products. At present, Shanghai Petrochemical and Qilu Petrochemical have relatively good product quality and can be applied to the production line of 280m-300m/min, but the membrane rupture rate is high; other companies' BOPP special materials are difficult to produce high-grade BOPP products and can only be used 280m/min below the production line.
In order to improve the quality of BOPP special materials, the Science and Technology Development Department of Sinopec Corp. organized relevant research units to conduct various analyses and comparisons on the best quality product grades of domestic and imported materials, and developed computer BOPP special materials production control software. Formulated measures to improve quality and catch up with foreign products.
At the end of 2001, Shanghai Petrochemical's trial production of high-speed BOPP material was expected to be trial production at the imported 25,000 tons/year BOPP high-speed production line of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The tensile speed reached 320m/min, and the product quality could basically meet the relevant indicators. Subsequently, the industrial production test program was further improved and about 1,000 tons of BOPP special materials were produced. In April of this year, the second industrial application test was conducted. The test results showed that the film properties of the film produced by the special material and the mechanical properties such as rigidity and toughness all reached the relevant requirements, and the test speed was stable at 360m/min, reaching similar foreign products. index of.
The BOPP special materials developed by Shanghai Petrochemical have succeeded in the trial production on the high-speed MPP production line, and the produced films can meet the requirements of users.
