Agfa announced the grand launch of a new series of thermal platesetters at the Print 05 Printing Show in Chicago recently: Avalon. The Star Series uses Agfa's new: Avalon HD Imaging Head, which is more convenient, reliable, and more powerful.
Dragon is divided into VLF super large format and LF off different models, with different degrees of automation options. The innovative Dragon will replace the Xcalibur Uranus series, while Agfa will still support the Uranus platesetter.
The Dragon LF has five basic models with different output speeds, ranging from 10 sheets/hour LE models to 40 sheets/hour XXT models.
The Dragon Star Direct Platesetter combines an external drum structure with a HD Imaging Head. The high-precision imaging head uses 512 imaging beams, imaging speed is very fast, and the external drum speed is relatively slow, simplifying operation and ensuring long-term reliability. High-precision imaging heads are also ideally suited for Agfa's leading chemical-free version: Azura Greenstar Edition and Hybrid Screening Technology: Sublima.
The Dragonfly VLF is available in eight sizes, from Dragonfly VLF50 to VLF83, which support new large-format presses such as KBA205 and Manoland Lithoman 72.
The Dragon LF has five basic models with different output speeds, ranging from 10 sheets/hour LE models to 40 sheets/hour XXT models. Dragon Star XT can output 23 Agfa chemical-free versions per hour: Azura Green Star Edition. Agfa offers a variety of options ranging from manual to fully automatic, and from a single removable cartridge to a plate manager that can manage up to four cartridges and automatically remove liners. Dragon Star LF can be equipped with built-in punch holes for standard holes and specific holes.
The Dragonfly VLF is available in eight sizes, from Dragonfly VLF50 to VLF83, which support new large-format presses such as KBA205 and Manoland Lithoman 72. Tianlongxing VLF has four output speeds from the entry-level E model to the XXT model, and the XXT model can output 18 1700mm-wide printing plates per hour. The Dragon Star also provides speed or size upgrades. The dual version option allows two smaller plates to be imaged simultaneously on the drum to increase flexibility, making it suitable for customers who have both large format and small format presses.
Dragon Star VLF can manually release plates or use fully automatic platesetters that can manage 4 plates and automatically remove liners from plate managers. The Plate Manager also supports the dual version option.
Tianlong Star Introduction
Agfa Solar Dragon's design is based on customer feedback and constant R&D to maximize the equipment's normal operating time. Dragon uses the second-generation Tianlongxing high-precision imaging head, new mechanical design, advanced optics and laser head, and incorporates the latest GLV IITM (Grating Light ValveTM) technology. The GLV IITM allows the laser head to emit multiple imaging beams, each of which can be individually controlled to maintain imaging accuracy, stability and consistency. New calibration guidelines make imaging smoother, and sophisticated remote diagnostics make service easier.
In addition to the new imaging heads, Dragon has more mechanical, electrical, and software improvements than its predecessor. New operator data boards are included to speed up operator feedback, provide media data, and device matching allows different platemaking mechanisms to make exactly the same media.
Jack Wolber, Agfa Global Marketing Manager, commented, “Dragon is not just a step forward in the development of direct plate machines. We have upgraded everything related to the product, from the production of the equipment to the addition of remote diagnostic tools. , We have new procedures for customizing customer orders, new configuration tools, faster installation procedures, improved service tracking tools, and more.We cater to all VLF and LF thermal platesetters with the broader Sky Dragon series. Customer's budget and requirements."
Dragonair will begin shipping in October. Agfa will still provide support for the installed Xcalibur Uranus.
