The present invention provides an ink cartridge having a viscous insulating layer and a method of manufacturing the ink cartridge. The ink cartridge includes a box body, a head chip mounted on an upper surface of the box body, and a flexible printed circuit electrically connected to the head chip and coupled to the upper surface of the box body, wherein the box body and the flexible printed circuit pass through the box body and the flexible printed circuit The insulating layers are bonded to each other. In addition, the manufacturing method of the ink cartridge includes: using a sealant on a head chip mounting portion located on an upper surface of the cartridge body; applying an insulating material on a back surface of the head chip and a component of the flexible printed circuit, and forming a conductive trace on the component The head chip is coupled to the head chip mounting portion; and the flexible printed circuit is heat pressed to couple the flexible printed circuit to the upper surface of the box body.
