Seattle-based startup Polyarc recently announced that it has completed a $3.5 million financing, led by UCCVR in Shanghai, Colopl VR Fund and Vulcan Capital. The startup currently has only six employees who are building "immersive VR games," but have not revealed more details.

In March, Polyarc won a prize from Epic Games to support developers using Unreal Engine 4 with a work codenamed "Moss" (not publicly available). The company is expected to launch its first game on various platforms in Q4 next year.

The only thing we know so far is that Polyarc is a veteran of Bungie ("Huan" series developer) company that has been acquired by Microsoft and has extensive experience in the game industry.

Executive Director and co-founder Tam Armstrong has been with Bungie for more than six years. He is the head of the animation engineering team that developed the popular work Destiny. In addition, he also participated in the development of "Halo: Zhiyuan Star".

Armstrong said in a statement: "When we first saw the VR prototype, we began to think (VR) can realize the potential of intuitive interaction in the game. We are grateful to have the opportunity to have enough enthusiasm, industry Experience and business-minded investors and partners work together."

Armstrong founded Polyarc with Danny Bulla and Chris Alderson last year. Bulla is another veteran of Bungie who has been a senior game designer for Destiny for almost four years. He previously worked at Rockstar Games and Midway. Bulla and Armstrong made a two-month prototype product consultant for Oculus last year.

Alderson worked for Bungie from 2008 to 2015 as the head of the game character art and also participated in the development of Destiny and Halo.
